Seasons Switched

I love the thought of a beach in freezing weather. 

Frozen Beach
Curls of wave stopped in time
Captured within this live photograph
Their uneven beauty in its prime

Some magnificent roars of sea boast
Others stay unblinking in gentle whispers
Fizzy foam effortlessly traces the pale coast

Ocean water encased within the layers of ice
The solid sea a sculpture of nature
The sight a frosty paradise
And the idea of a snug retreat when it gets too cold.

Tropical Igloo
A patch of land somewhere in Antarctica
Provides a warm relief
Dunes of golden snow cover the ground
The sun resembling a puff of cheese


The rays bend the laws of science
Curving down to make a dome of sunshine
Creating an igloo of warmth
So that its perfectly toasty inside

A Healing Discovery

Elysian couldn't fall asleep and it wasn't his insomnia that kept him awake. It was too humid in his comforter. The air conditioning was broken. He was having a hard time just breathing properly. His discomfort led him to walk around the house. He found himself in the attic. At least it was cooler up here. The smell of fresh polish greeted him. Seeds of Forgiveness

Philip was a gorgeous gate. He guarded the Sand Fiona Resorts, it's imported marble and glass windows a stark contrast to his ancient aesthetic. Dressed in vines and dotted with button roses, he'd swerve open to charm the crowds. Kid's wrapped their wrists in the leafy bracelets he'd grow for them. Their carefree faces were all he needed in return. Only the older generation knew of his true origin. He had arrived to the warehouse as mere limbs of wood, cut off from his mama tree that once stood in this very land, among his forest family. Pained with this separation, he grew dull and dry. Enlightenment of Enigmas

Nalsar recently held a Literary Fest, giving me the opportunity to send in a creative work as part of the writing competition. I poured my whole heart into writing a story; did so with meraki. It was a 'Miss India' moment when I found out my story won me the first prize. As an aspiring writer, it was sweet reassurance. Here is the story,'Enlightenment of Enigmas' based on the theme of 'Boundaries': Yugen truly understood his name as he watched the stars. It was a Japanese word, capturing a profound sense of the universe in its meaning. “A sight like this really stirs your thoughts”, he said out loud to himself.
